What You Should Know
There's A Gap
I learned about mindfulness through my older female family members, and because of that, I was wary. How could I be interested in something that these ladies enjoy? Generational differences are a thing.
Typical teenage assumption - good thing I took the chance!
With teenagers knowing so little about mindfulness, and lacking representatives for their age group, I decided to take the first step in bridging that gap.
I want the next person who comes along to learn about mindfulness from someone their age.
Setting the example for others is the best way to engage others, and to prove that young adults can utilize it too.
Mindful Teen: The Podcast
Why This Content Was Chosen
If you wanted a guided meditation, look elsewhere! There's millions of those online.
This podcast is meant to educate, not to lull you to sleep. I want my age group to LEARN, and do whatever they wish with that knowledge later.
Demonstrating that I'm capable of being vulnerable sets the example that others can too, and that they are able to HEAL, and COPE.
I feel as though teens don't have enough safe space to let go!
It is SO important that I can create that safe space, even if it is short-term.
Maybe what we learn together can be carried on to help develop healthier boundaries, better empathy, self-awareness, and more happiness!
